As children move into Reception class they continue to learn from active play and exploration and work within the same framework as nursery, though it does become more structured as the year progresses.

Child Initiated learning continues to be a strong focus with teachers and support staff observing children at their play, assessing their development and planning their next steps. ¬†Children’s confidence develops rapidly and, as the year progresses, Reception join the whole school for liturgies and move onto the Infant yard to play with a wider range of peers.

Parent partnerships remain a valued feature of our provision, with parental drop in sessions held on a rotational basis.  All of this places the child at the very centre of their education, ensuring that they receive personalised learning suited to their own individual needs.
